These 3 Colorful Accessory Sets Will Brighten Up Any Look

As if it wasn’t already obvious enough, Afro Indie is all about accessorizing! When you accessorize, putting a personal spin on each of your outfits becomes ten times easier. The best part is, some accessories have such an impact, that if you wanted to, you could pull off the same outfit, to the same venue a second time without anyone even noticing! In the long run, this will save you from dishing out the big bucks on what feels like an endless supply of clothes, yet always feeling like you have nothing to wear. Whilst it all sounds easy (and it is once you get the hang of it), it’s important that you learn to pick your accessories, which is where we come in! Today, our main message is that accessorizing can finally be easy! I cannot count how many times I've struggled in finding the right pair of earrings, necklace, or rings all to compliment my one outfit. Luckily, we have your back on this one… For beginners in the school of accessorizing, the best thing to do would be to stick with sets that provide you with a formula as simple as E = mc² that’ll have you slaying every time! And since good things come in threes; Today, we will be highlighting our top 3 favorite accessory sets from the Afro Indie gift set collection.

1. 'Atiyah' Chunky Bib Set

Beginning the line-up today we have a captivating and charismatic set, one that can only be described as a classic. One thing a woman should always have in her closet is a chunky beaded set. Perhaps the ‘Atiyah’ Bib Set? As well as stemming from traditional West African jewelry made from coral beads, it’s pretty easy on the eye too. The necklace incorporates brightly decorated beads, forming a rainbow pattern that’ll light up even the darkest of rooms. It comes with a matching pair of earrings and a bracelet that is also adorned with the same style of irresistible handmade and hand painted beads. Staying true to its name (which translates from Arabic, into “gift”) the ‘Atiyah’ set would work perfectly as a vibrant Christmas present for a special lady. The ‘Atiyah’ is dainty and composed using glass, which means you’ve got to handle, and store this with care. Elevate this look with a cute black blazer, black slacks, and your favorite pair of heels that compliment the colors of the bib. Brighten up your look with this multi-colored statement piece!

2. 'Thema' Chunky Royalty Bib Set

Now ladies, this one is about to take us deep into our roots, not only is this set completely and utterly detail oriented, it’s packed with history, and cultural significance. Here we have the ‘Thema’ Chunky Royalty Bib Set. This piece is arrayed with multi-colored, hand painted African trade beads. The significance of this comes from a long history of trading between Africa and Europe. In the 17th and 18th century, these beads were known as ‘aggy’, ‘trade’ or ‘slave’ beads, initially, they were made for use in the African slave trade, but quickly became a precious form of currency on the Atlantic coasts of Africa. Because these glass beads were made in Europe, and glassmaking was uncommon in Africa, trade beads were highly valued and sought after in Africa, in other words, they were, and still remain, precious. If this isn’t a clear reflection of Afro Indie’s aims of reclaiming our (sometimes painful) past, and turning it into something beautiful, we don’t know what is! The ‘Thema’ features gold clump beading at the ends of the black multi-layered necklace to add flair and personality. It goes well with just about anything! Style her up with our 'Anwuli' Head Adornment and rock her with your favorite blouse and jeans for a cute casual look.

3. 'Olayemi' Over-Sized Drops Set

You know that saying? the one that goes ‘the bigger the hoop, the bigger the ho?’, well here at Afro Indie, we like to do things a bit differently, and say ‘the bigger the hoop, the bigger the blessing!’ and with this set, your blessings are about to be on 100! The ‘Olayemi’ Oversized Drops Set not only gives you a dramatic look, but the thick band on the earrings will transport you back to 1970’s Nigeria in no time! The set comes with 3 chunky bangles, which takes the 70’s/60’s vibe to a whole ‘another level! This style has been a fashion staple for years and has no intentions of fading away. The bright blue earrings are for girls who love to make a statement, and do not mind going all in with their accessories. Despite their humongous appearance, the ‘Olayemi’ earrings are quite light, and comfortable for the ear. The set would look great with your favorite white or pink blouse to match the pink and lime green flowers engraved on the earrings. She comes with matching bangles to pull the outfit all together.
